Powerful Inner Narratives

Powerful Inner Narratives

Nelson Mendela once said:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are weak.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us."

What if we were not INSECURITY driven, but were motivated by a deep inner confidence? In contrast it seems we are mostly hyper focused upon our deficits versus the deposits we already possess.

Newsflash. We are in a RELATIONSHIP with OURSELVES. Let's just ponder that for a moment: I'm in a relationship with myselg.

So how's it going- with yourself- on the inside? No, really. We give updates all the time on marriages, family relations, friendships... but what about the US on the inside? How are we really doing in there.

Think of the kind of humans that are refreshing:

Kind

Polite

Generous

Caring

Flexible

Loyal

Positive

Encouraging

The love we have for ourselves should give us the courage to accomplish and BE things that are challenging- similarly to how the supporting love of a parent, spouse or friend can infuse us with the very things we may lack. Self love is important. Self care is important. Neither one is selfish.

Can you celebrate your progress even when your NOT thriving and hitting your goals? Can you deal GENTLY with yourself if you're falling short of your own expectations?

How would you deal with another human in your same struggle? Maybe we need to soothe that inner child that was ignored. The one that lost its voice long ago. Maybe it's about time we lend a hand to the still-in-process part of us. If we find our thought life is sabatoging our peace, maybe have another thought! If the inner dialogue is distressing, perhaps mute yourself! May our inner self-talk be that which we would echo to another struggling person.

Let it bring LIFE and power.
